Company Description
bijnis is a technology-driven B2B commerce platform transforming how manufacturers run, grow and scale their factories. With the vision to "Take Factories to the World," bijnis connects manufacturers and retailers across India while digitising critical business functions such as demand, supply, capital and operations.
The business operates across B2B marketplace and quick-commerce models, covering inventory, warehousing, logistics, retailer collections, vendor payments, returns and multi-location operations.

The Mandate
India's retailers do not need another app. They need the right inventory, at the right price, available nearby and delivered reliably-without losing selling time or locking up unnecessary working capital.
bijnis is building a B2B dark-store quick-commerce network for Bharat's retailers. Retail demand is both planned and unplanned, margins matter deeply, assortments vary by market, and every unavailable product can mean a lost sale.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager - Demand to answer one deceptively simple question:
How do we make bijnis so useful and dependable that retailers choose us again and again?
This is not a "manage the roadmap" role. You will help build the demand operating system for B2B quick commerce across retailers, internal trading teams and category growth.
Role Structure
This is a high-ownership individual-contributor role. You will work closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Category, Sales, Supply Chain, Dark Store Operations and Customer Experience to drive outcomes across the demand ecosystem.
Ideal Experience
- 7-10 years of overall professional experience
- 5-7 years of hands-on product-management experience
- Experience in B2B commerce, quick commerce, marketplaces, retail technology, logistics or another operationally intensive business is strongly preferred
Your Scoreboard
You will define the right metrics, establish the operating rhythm around them and help teams understand not only what moved, but why it moved.
- Retailer retention and repeat purchasing
- Ordering frequency and share of wallet
- Discovery, consideration and conversion
- Assortment relevance and in-stock availability
- Dark-store and category-level sell-through
- Inventory health and ageing
- Trader productivity and decision quality
- Category Growth Manager adoption and effectiveness
- Service experience across delivery, returns, refunds and support
- Retailer trust, satisfaction and advocacy
Three Charters. One Demand Engine.
Demand at bijnis is shaped by three interconnected users. You will help design their journeys as one connected system-not three separate sets of tools.
Charter 1 - Retailers
Make bijnis the instinctive way for retailers to replenish their stores.
You will own the retailer journey across discovery, ordering, fulfilment, service and repeat purchase.
The goal is not simply more app engagement. It is to become part of how a retailer runs their business.
- Help retailers discover the right assortment for their shop and local market
- Make urgent and planned replenishment fast and effortless
- Increase repeat purchase, frequency and share of wallet
- Build confidence in availability, pricing, delivery and product quality
- Improve the experience when something goes wrong
- Use personalisation and AI to make every interaction more useful
Charter 2 - Traders
Give our merchandising and sales teams stronger commercial tools.
The aim is not to replace human judgement, but to make it more informed and effective.
- Understand what is selling, where and why
- Identify assortment gaps and emerging demand
- Match the right inventory to the right retailer clusters
- Prioritise opportunities and interventions
- Improve visibility and reduce manual workflows
- Use AI to automate repetitive work and surface commercially useful insights
- Help teams manage retailer relationships with greater context and precision
Charter 3 - Category Growth Managers
Build the Category Growth operating system largely from zero to one.
Category Growth Managers work across assortment, inventory, pricing, dark-store availability and demand creation. You will work directly with users to understand their decisions, constraints and current workarounds.
You will begin with the decisions users need to make-not a predetermined feature list.
- Identify category and city-level opportunities
- Plan assortment by dark store and retailer cluster
- Improve inventory depth, availability and replenishment decisions
- Support pricing, promotions and demand interventions
- Enable new-product and new-category launches
- Improve sell-through, ageing and stock health
- Surface local market intelligence and trends
- Build AI-assisted recommendations, alerts and decision support
The Marketplace Is the Product
In a dark-store business, the customer experience cannot be separated from the operating system behind it.
Retailer behaviour -> Demand intelligence -> Category decisions -> Dark-store assortment -> Retailer experience
What retailers see depends on what is ranged, stocked and replenished. What gets stocked depends on how teams interpret demand. What the business learns next depends on the data generated by retailer behaviour.
What You'll Build
- A stronger reason for retailers to return and reorder
- Discovery and recommendations suited to each shop and market
- A dependable experience across availability, delivery, quality, returns, refunds and support
- Growth loops based on product value rather than perpetual incentives
- AI-powered tools that improve relevance, productivity and decision quality
- A connected view of customer experience, assortment, inventory and fulfilment
- Solutions that may involve product, process, policy or people-not software by default
How You'll Work
- Set a clear product direction for the B2B dark-store demand ecosystem
- Own measurable outcomes across retailer demand, retention and repeat purchase
- Improve established Retailer and Trader journeys
- Take the Category Growth system from discovery to adoption and scale
- Translate customer and business problems into clear product priorities
- Work through influence and collaboration across multiple stakeholder teams
- Spend meaningful time with retailers, Traders and Category Growth Managers
- Create clarity across retention, engagement, service and category-health metrics
- Drive outcomes through sharp prioritisation, strong systems thinking and intelligent use of AI
You May Be the Right Person If
- You have owned retention, engagement, repeat purchase or purchasing-frequency metrics at meaningful scale
- You have built internal products that improve commercial or operational decisions
- You are comfortable improving an established journey and building a new system from scratch
- You can think across customer experience, assortment, inventory, fulfilment and unit economics
- You enjoy spending time with customers and operating teams-not only in product meetings
- You can distinguish between problems that need technology and those better solved through people or process
- You know how to use data and AI without removing valuable human judgement
- You can operate independently, create alignment and drive outcomes without relying on formal authority.
This Role May Not Be for You If
- Your definition of product ends when the order is placed
- You prefer feature roadmaps over measurable customer and business outcomes
- You rely entirely on dashboards and rarely spend time with customers
- You believe every important problem requires a new product feature
- You measure leadership by team size rather than the impact created
- You treat AI as someone else's responsibility
- You believe retention is primarily the CRM team's responsibility
- You need perfectly defined problems before starting
- You are uncomfortable working through influence in a cross-functional, individual-contributor role
What Success Could Look Like
In your first year:
- bijnis has a clear demand-product strategy across all three charters
- More retailers use bijnis as part of their regular replenishment rhythm
- Discovery becomes more relevant to each shop, locality and inventory need
- Traders make faster, better-informed decisions with fewer manual workflows
- Category Growth Managers have a working operating system where none existed before
- Dark-store assortment and availability reflect local retailer demand more accurately
- Product, commercial and operations teams work from one connected demand scorecard
- AI improves the retailer experience and internal operating leverage
- bijnis earns more retailer trust-not merely more transactions
Why bijnis?
B2B quick commerce is not simply about delivering wholesale inventory faster. It is about knowing what thousands of retailers need, placing the right assortment close to them, helping teams make better decisions and completing the final mile reliably-all while keeping inventory and unit economics healthy.
If you want to build where customer experience, merchandising, AI and the physical supply chain meet, this is that role.
